Save the Delta Queen History This National Historic Landmark won a special exemption from the U.S. Congress, which allows her to continue to transport overnight passengers. Garmatz Skull & Crossbones Letter In December 1970, Rep. Edward A. Garmatz circulated an infamous letter to the U.S. House of Representatives, warning that if the Delta Queen burned, the "blood will be on the congress." The letter is from the archives of the Save the Delta Queen history.
